Leadership, Giving societies & AFFINITY GROUPS

Women United® is a powerhouse of diverse women working together to create change. Women United harnesses the power of women to engage, educate and empower others to become leaders and actively participate in the betterment of our community. We invest time, talent, influence and resources to be true agents of change.

Women United recognizes that by promoting women’s financial stability, we can positively influence a family’s ability to meet basic needs, educate children and achieve optimal health and well being. As a council, we will support United Way of Northwest Vermont by adopting this as our signature issue for advocacy and volunteerism. We invite all to work together to develop philanthropic power as community investors, advocates and volunteers. We encourage members to support United Way as a Women United Champion (annual gift or pledge of $500 or more) or as a Women United Friend (annual gift or pledge $200 - $499).

The Alexis de Tocqueville Society recognizes local philanthropic leaders and volunteer champions who have devoted time, talent, and funds to create long-lasting changes by tackling our community’s most pressing issues. Membership in the Tocqueville Society is granted to individuals who contribute at least $10,000.00 annually to a member United Way.

The Pomeroy Leadership Circle recognizes households who pledge gifts of $1,000 or more annually to United Way of Northwest Vermont.

Our endowment for long-term social change ensures United Way of Northwest Vermont’s mission to improve lives and create a stronger community. The Legacy Fund recognizes household gifts to the endowment or those who have included United Way of Northwest Vermont in their estate plan, will or trust.
