By promoting independent living and access to healthcare we WILL improve the well-being of our friends, family and neighbors
We work to unite the community to improve health through strategic initiatives, funding local programs and by mobilizing volunteers. We believe that the biggest impact can be made by focusing on initiatives that support strong families, promote independent living and increase access to healthcare.
We fund community health services for health and dental care, substance abuse treatment, mental health care, violence prevention and nutrition programs. We support these investments by recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to assist older adults and people with disabilities in accessing care and living independently.
United Way works strategically to foster community partnerships that address barriers to healthcare that include transportation and language services. Learn more about Neighbor Rides, a growing community initiative of United Way of Northwest Vermont that organizes volunteers to help seniors and people with disabilities get to medical appointments, grocery stores and perform other essential errands.
Stand up against poverty and create a stronger community by supporting our work in Education, Income and Health.
